Chair of Heritage Oshawa is presented with Heritage Community Recognition Program Award

On April 10, 2007, Rose Mary Mason, Chair of Heritage Oshawa, was presented with an Award from the Ontario Heritage Trust.  It was presented at Oshawa City Council by Mayor John Gray in recognition of her significant contribution to the promotion, preservation and protection of Oshawa’s heritage.  A member of Heritage Oshawa for 11 years, Rose Mary has photographed hundreds of properties, organized displays, addressed various interest groups, written many reports and led numerous walking tours. Mayor Gray thanked her for her commitment to the community and looked forward to future contributions.  Rose Mary thanked City Council for facing challenging heritage issues, staff and members of the public for their support, her family for their patience as well as members of Heritage Oshawa past and present for their inspiration.
